Nowadays, many CEOs of companies have their own vision of the business. However, this mindset has a big weakness. It’s mostly based on the thinking of the leaders. When it comes to a shared vision, we have to get the idea from all members of the company but not from isolated ideas from leaders. Peter Senge who is well known as a scientist and teacher once said “When people truly share a vision they are connected, bound together by a common aspiration. Personal visions derive their power from an individual’s deep caring for the vision.” As I read this statement, I was able to know more about the shared vision.

First, shared vision comes from the personals. Each person has to express their vision clearly and share it with members of the community. Not just him but everyone. When someone has something to share, other members have to listen and can give ideas too.

Second, shared vision is one part that shows good effects on growth. Without a shared vision, it is hard for companies to grow. Companies that just rely on the CEO and companies that get the ideas from many employees show a different growth rate. As the company gets many ideas from workers, they can have many ideas about specific things and even have substitute ideas for that in case. Lastly, it shows leadership and ownership. According to the article, I saw that sharing vision helps the company to get good bonding. And I agree with what this says. When the CEO shares his ideas and also bonds with the members of the company, they will be more likely to follow the leader. To add more, it will be our company, not the CEOs company. This will motivate the employees and make the workplace better.

To conclude, what I learned from modules 7–8 which is shared vision helped us a lot. We can just see that from the group work we did. We shared our ideas with the groupmates and assigned different parts. Also, we can share ideas about other groupmates’ work. For all of this above, I was able to fully understand the topic of Shared Vision.
